WHO OWNS THE PAST?
The past belongs neither to states nor to archives. It belongs to those willing to investigate it honestly, to question established narratives, and to tell its stories without ideological filters. Whoever controls the narrative of yesterday shapes tomorrow. That is why the question "Who owns the past?" is ultimately a question about power over the future.
FED is a Brussels-based start-up working at the intersection of independent journalism, cultural heritage and politics. Based in the heart of Europe's political landscape, we investigate how history is preserved, interpreted and contested — and who gets to shape public memory.
Through documentary production, investigative journalism and cultural research, we create media that is rigorously reported, cinematically told and historically grounded.
"Independent media that makes complex questions about the past clear, relevant and urgent."
